Remove Names That Are Already Registered
Remove the names that have been registered in different parts of the world or in your target geographical area. The names already registered somewhere are not usable for your business. If a name has been registered in the industry that you operate in and/or in the geographical area of your activity, remove it immediately. You may want to establish “Javan restaurant”, for example, in your city.
There is a restaurant with the same name in the same geographical area; this name should be removed as you cannot use a name that has already existed. If there is not a restaurant named “Javan” in your city, but there is one in another city, you can still keep it on your list to make the final decision based on other factors that you must consider before you stick to a name.
If you are going to launch “Javan” cell phone store, but the Javan restaurant already exists, this name will remain on your list because there is no similar one in the industry you work in. Google is a great help for research at the international level, but at the local level, you need to find a way to use the information of the companies registration office.
In the United Kingdom (UK) and Canada, and several other countries, for instance, there is a government website where it is possible to easily search to see whether a name has already been registered or not. So by searching up a name on these websites created by the government of these countries, you will be able to minimize times and efforts it will take to create a good name for your company. Thus, so far, check the second column of the table you prepared and remove the registered names.
