Thirteen Thousand Tries to Reach Home
It was for first time that Tom tried to contact after getting caught. One hour passed. Thousands contacts have been done. Sometimes they saw something unclear that either was not related to them or disappeared very soon. Contact after 13521 tries was made. Tom could know Mrs. Jessica by her face drowsily. He looked for a moment, opened his eyes and slept away. Nicole woke up too. She looked at the monitor hurriedly. Mrs. Jessica was angry and was addressing Doctor Ben.
"Doctor should I have said nobody permitted to leave his position. The systems should stop in no way. If something happens what shall we do? The young couple expect us and wait for our help."
"Mrs. Jessica, these people have no fault, they are exhausted and hopeless to the task."
"The idea! there must be somebody at work without stoppage. It is a national security not a joke."
Nicole and Tom could not say anything for joy as if cat ate their tongues. They did not dare to touch the systems too. They feared to be disconnected. They felt homesick so that seemed to be away for years.
Mrs. Jessica noticed the systems be activated. She quickly went to the keyboard and turned on the special monitors. She looked Tom and Nicole's pictures happily, gazely while tearing, Doctor embarrassed.
"Doctor, do not call, hurry up, say the others not to do any with their systems, not to switch on and off and nothing change, our contact may be cut off."
Mrs. Jessica cherished the picture of them with her tears.
