Building the Structure of an Online Marketing Plan for Your Event

Nowadays, as the Internet has become more popular, many audiences are available online and on social media. Focusing on the online world is one great method of absorbing financial sponsors and selling booths and advertising spaces. Your goal of event marketing is either branding or sales. No matter which one, you still need to grab the attention of the event's audiences. The advantages of online marketing include lower cost compared to other methods, flexibility and customization of advertisement, accurate analysis, feedback and reports, selecting and focusing on the target market, a wide diversity of tools, and an extensive range of audiences.

Preparing the plan's structure is the main stage, because it is the basis of your work. First, do primary research: research your competitors and the market and record any information you gather. What is happening in the market? What actions do other events perform? What tools do your competitors apply? Analyze it as a third person, and use the help of experts.

Second, set the goals of your online presence: promoting the event and selling tickets, or branding.

Third, know the target market. Differentiate it by gender, location, education, language, and research its behaviors. Define it in full detail; for example, working women aged between 30 and 50 living in a certain district. If your event is the concert of a pop singer whose fans are mostly high school girls, look for the social media pages visited by these people.

Fourth, select the online marketing method. If your audiences are active on YouTube, consider being active on YouTube at the head of your plans.

Fifth, allocate a budget in proportion to the methods you have chosen. If you're low on budget, you will have to choose between the methods based on their proportion to your goals. The final decision is made by the budget.
