Waiting for the Radio Interview

Steve continues his promotional book tour by visiting a local radio show. The studio is a nice little room with several couches, a table and chairs, and two doors – on opposite walls from each other. In the studio, Steve waits to go on the air while Larry sits on the couch in the lounge. Linda on his lap. They kiss.

Greg walks in. “Ah-hem!” Greg sounds out loudly. They stop. Larry leans back from Linda’s lips. “Hi there, Greg. We didn’t hear you come in,” he says, but unembarrassed. “So I noticed. Been counting each other’s teeth with your tongues again, I see,” a smirking Greg says. Linda turns her head towards Greg and says, “That’s our business, Greg. He’s my man, after no?!

Oh, here’s your gum back, babe.” Linda opens her mouth, takes gum out and hands it to Larry. He takes it and puts it in his mouth. “Thanks.” Larry says, chewing. Larry gets to his feet. “So, where’s Steve; he here yet? He goes on in ten.” “Yeah, he’s just going over some notes for the interview,” Greg says looking around the room.

Steve enters from a side studio door, and grabs a bottle of water. Greg smiles and announces, “And, once again, the man of the hour! Give it up, peeps.” Steve rolls his eyes. “Oh, Greg, give it a rest - huh?” Steve says. “Now, come on. I want to do this right - and not make an ass of myself live on air.” “Where’s Hillary?” Linda asks out of curiosity.

“I thought she’d be on hand to...make sure you didn’t do just that.” “Ah...she’s...busy,” Steve says, trying to evade the question. “Got a new...friend to fill up her...Time?” Greg answers, suggestively. The on-air voice of Orlando, Dave is in his mid-40’s. He is handsome. He comes in from the other door. Dave is the on-air voice of Orlando – ‘Big Dave’ they call him. Time is running out before the show is about to start.
