Contests, Cold Calls, Symbols and Celebrities

Running all types of contest or prize draw is an advertising method. Whether on a website or on social media, it effectively engages people because it ends with prizes. Run a contest and consider a prize for leaving comments. Writing each comment leads to content providing, and people who don't know each other read the comments, and your event's topic becomes interesting to them. Another way is to provide a booth for your team in each event so they can run contests and prize draws there, with prizes relevant to your company, such as shopping cards for your next events.

In cold calling, contact strangers and companies whose activities are pertinent to the event's topic. You need to come up with a scenario for your calls, designed by the communication department. Be smart and introduce yourself within the first thirty seconds. After that, the call might be over, but you have at least given your name. If the audience is willing, the call will continue, and they may check the event as visitors or rent you a booth.

In marketing, a symbolic character pays off very quickly. Have your own unique feature and style, and select your representing symbol according to the type of event and audiences. It can be a young or old male or female character, or a made-up mascot. You can change it according to the topics of the events; if your symbol is a bear mascot, add a chef costume for a food fair. Sometimes the members of a company turn into symbolic characters. There is a printing office in the U.S. in which the owner circles around the office and prepares reports every day, and one of the main reasons it has developed is that its manager has become a symbolic character.

Using celebrities is even more useful in the event business, because their presence is followed by a large crowd of their fans. If a celebrity announces on social media that he or she will attend, many fans will visit. Be careful to choose those relevant to your event's topic. Document their presence and take photos and videos in the nick of time to use indirectly for advertising.
