Design and Color in Advertising: Be Remembered in 15 Seconds

Design is critical in all advertising activities, whether in making films, printing catalogs, posters and coupons, or attending exhibitions. Design is the attractive part of your work and makes the customer decide whether to come to you or not.

Hire professionals for designing. Do not always look at the design from your own point of view; look from the audience's point of view. Observe harmony in the design. It should be such that the customer remembers you whenever they see the color or the design.

The design should represent your message. For example, if we design flyers for a marketing course and you, as the audience, see them, you should quickly realize things like the length of the course, its advantages over similar courses and who is hosting it. If you do not realize such key points in the first 10 to 15 seconds, the design is inappropriate.

Besides harmonizing and conveying the concept, make sure whether your goal in designing is sales or branding. If the goal is sales, you should focus on incentive schemes, coupons and similar things. Make the information you intend to convey clear to the designer. The designer should be able to convey it visually to the audience in the shortest possible time.

You do not need a new design for each event. You can have common designs in exhibitions but change some elements. Customers should see a fixed design and recognize which company it belongs to as soon as they see it.

Color is an important issue in designs. Do not forget your organizational color; it is determined in your business plan because it specifies the main course. For example, the organizational color of one of my companies, Dr. Advertis, is orange, and my clothes and designs are orange too. Of course, I do not insist on using orange everywhere, but I consider several things in the arrangement. If your company's color is a particular or unique color, it is difficult to use other colors along with it.

In this case, ask the designer's opinion. You can use your organizational color and font in combination with other elements in different ways, so that the original color is preserved in the background while other fonts or colors are used with it. You preserve the main organizational color and use other colors based on geographical interests or seasonal occasions.

Sometimes companies choose a color based on their own interests, regardless of whether it matches the product. If the product you offer has nothing in common with that color, choosing it may be wrong and meaningless. Choose the design color according to your knowledge of the audience.
