Opening a Corporate Bank Account in Canada and Building Credit Over Time

After getting the permits and licenses required to start your business and specifying the method of getting finance, you should open a bank account in a Canadian bank. To do so, you should take the following documents to the bank: the original papers of the article of incorporation and the certificate of registration, and two identification documents from all members of the board of directors.

In Canada, valid identification documents include a driving license, an ID card or a document that shows you are a permanent resident in Canada, and a passport.

The presence of all associates at the bank is obligatory. Back in the time, you could do it through power of attorney, but it is not currently possible to do so.

In Canada, a certain amount is subtracted from your account as commission for a number of interactions. You can choose the least amount and upgrade it later if needed.

When the corporation builds records, you can ask banks for credits and loans. For example, you can have a credit import account. This credit must be created during a specific time, and it will not be given simply by transacting money in a short time. The element of time is of great importance here. You should be careful that no complaint is lodged against you and no fraud happens in the corporation.

Banks also pay equipment expenses to businesses. Machinery is one of the main expenses of companies, and banks pay up to 100 percent of machinery expenses. The rate of payment is different for each bank and each business; sometimes it is between 50 and 60 percent. For example, 100 percent of expenses is paid for printing machines, because the payoff is more guaranteed for this business.

There is also no limit for investment in a Canadian corporation, but the source of the money must be specified due to anti-money laundering laws.

So the bank account is more than a place to keep money. It is the beginning of your company's financial record. Open it with the right documents, choose the plan with the lowest commission for now, keep the account clean, and let time work for you.
